No New Posts Canyon Floor

The canyon floor is the nicest place to live. It has a river, some grass, few predators and even fewer humans. Wild horses thrive here because they are sheltered from the world. Harsh weather barely bothers them either, making it an amazing place. Getting to the canyon floor requires walking on a very steep and narrow path so most horses never leave the canyon floor.

No New Posts Canyon Caves

The middle of the canyon is laced with caves that are connected with tunnels. Grass thrives within the moist cave walls and tunnels. Sun comes through in random holes in the ceiling of the cave. Caves not only offer protection from the harsh elements but a nice place to sleep and a dangerous place for riders to go to catch a horse. Predators lurk around every corner though so these wild horses step lightly. Going to the bottom or top of the canyon requires walking on a steep path so few horses venture outside of the caves. Many foals die from falling from the caves to the floor below.

No New Posts Canyon Top

The top of the canyon has the most grass, trees, predators and wild horses around. Water is everywhere as well but the only protection around are some trees. Where ever there is no grass there is dirt and sand. The herd here faces all the elements head on, making them very hardy. These horses are caught more often than any other canyon horses.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
Hell's Canyon
Hell's Canyon is more than 8,000 feet deep and lies on the Idaho-Orgeon border. Here, in random areas, you can find cougars and wild horses. Some horses live on the canyon floor and some live up on the top, some prefer to make their home somewhere in the middle. Each has their own challenges. The horses here are rarely hunted because of the danger to the rider and horse.
